HOMEOWNER BABY

It is OFFICAL....we are homeowners. Did the closing today and we got us a house. it is 2am and I (Jodee) just got home. I have been painting, cleaning and so on. It is way past my bed that for sure. Some of our college friends came and helped out so that was nice. We got the living room primed....cabinets cleaned for reals....and a few other things. I am excited about it all. Just wish Chad would hurry up and get home. But I do think he is going to really surprised when he sees it!
I'm tired.......so I'm going to bed. Just wanted to let you guys know it is OFFICAL!

It's getting closer and I'm all alone

Well...the official closing date is getting closer and actually things are still good to go. That is, as far as I know. I got the electric junk taken care of. I tried to go get the water turned on. But we ran into some issues. So once again, our trusty realtor had to save the day. She took care of that issue for me. I am going to buy a refrig tomorrow. I have found "the one" I think. And I might go ahead and buy the rug so I can pick out the best color of paint. That is where I get a little nervous. Chad has left me to make all the decisions by myself. Which is a little scary if you ask me. But he has been constantly encouraging me in these decisions. I have a few ideas of what I want to do, but I need to be reassured. And he is kick'n it at Student Life Camp. Basically, I need someone to say "Yes that would work" or "That's probably not the best idea." I am pretty unsure on the whole color of paint stuff. What is even worse, is that Chad is worse than me when it comes to colors. No, he's not color blind, he's just not sure what color goes with what. So, together it can be BAD! Maybe that's why he is at camp while I am here.
I got a couple of ideas, that I am going to run by one of my friends that is a great decorator. She doesn't know but she is going to have to help me ALOT! Hopefully, she won't mind.
I have been boxing up some stuff every evening. I am getting closer. I can't do too much because well, I still live here. I still need to eat and have clothes and so on. There are about 6 or 7 boxes that are in front of our dinning room table just waiting for some of our college friends to come help us move!
I'm not really excited about moving everything downstairs to get onto the truck. But As a girl, I think the heavy part of the move is going go to be the shoes. I won't have to carry the heavy stuff. But I do know what will be the heaviest for me. SHOES! Not sure whether to throw them in a box or suite case. Maybe I'll get them in something.
The first half of my summer school is stuff is almost over. I had to create a website today. Trust me, it isn't very fancy but, it works for my class. If you are really that bored you can check it out.

Sunday night I went bowling with the college ministry. I didn't bowl, I just went to eat their food! And of course hang out with everyone.

I got to hangout with some cool kids on Monday too. Even got dinner out of the deal there too.
But I really am ready for Chad to get home. There have been a few breaking moments for me. I do think overall, I have done ok. I could do better.....but do you blame me? 10 days for him to be gone is a long time! Sure we have done the 2 days but 10! YIKES! That's alot! I have talked to him everyday, and he said that it has been a great week! And that the students have had an incredible time! Which I have been praying that the Lord would do something that they would not expect. From what Chad has said, it has happened! I'm not gonna lie though, I'm ready to see to my husband!

Soon to be Home Owners

There has been a little bit of drama in our lives this week. We got a call on Monday from our realtor saying that the people that are in our soon to be house are refusing to get out. They are renting and told the owners they weren't leaveing. The renters said they were going to court on Friday (today).
Chad and I freaked out! We have to be out of our apartment by July 8th. Chad will gone when we close so we are moving as soon as he gets back. But at this point, if the renters don't get out the we have no place to live.
We called my dad who is lawyer and he talked us through everything. I stressed out......so I left to go get my hair cut.
So on Tueday the owners went to see a lawyer and then to talk to the renters and on Tuesday they agreed to get out by Thursday. Chad and I honestly thought this was all talk from the renters and that they really wouldn't be out.
Wednesday night about 11pm we get an email from our realtor saying there is a moving truck at the house. We had just got into bed. Chad and I decided we need to check this out. We then got out of bed and drove by at 11pm and sure enough there WAS a moving truck and they WERE loading it up! We drove by again Thursday at lunch, during the afternoon, and late at night. And they really were MOVING out!!!!!!!! We both were really excited at this point.
Friday we got a call and our realtor said that they were offically out! The house was in good shape. The owner is having it cleaned.
So, we are set to close Friday the 29th at I think 9am! That's kind of early, but the earlier we close the earlier we get the keys!!!!
As of now it is offical that in a week from today we will close on a house and be home owners!
Who wants to come help paint?

Party time is OVER!

This weekend seems like it has FLOWN by. Friday night we attended one of our friends 40th birthday party. Saturday morning went to a wedding shower. Saturday night went to another dinner/party/thingy. That is all that we have done. Party, party, party. We did have fun and we did get 2 really good meals out of the deal.
Only a few more weeks and we have to start moving out. The process for the house is still going smooth. We had a little scare this week with the heater. But, we got that under control and we are stil set to close on the 29th.
Not much has gone on with us over the past 2 weeks or so. I have been busy with my class. Tons of homework though. I get home about 5:15 or 5:30 and we eat dinner then I do homework till 12:30 or so. Not my idea of a fun summer. I have made some pretty logos and other things in my class though. But I would much rather be at the pool reading a book.
I guess that its all for now.
Here's a pic of us from the birthday party. It was a black and white party!

School...WHAT?

Today, I (Jodee) got up before Chad did and got ready for my first day of classes. Chad, continued to get his beauty sleep while I got ready for the day. I left the apartment and headed off to my first day of classes. I am going to be getting my teaching certificate in tech apps this summer. Basically, that means NO SUMMER! NO SLEEPING LATE! NO DOING NOTHING! NO POOL TIME! NO HANGING OUT! NO WATCHING MOVIES ALL DAY! NO SPENDING THE DAY WITH MY MOM WHILE CHAD IS AT WORK! But most importantly.....NO SLEEPING LATE!
I will be in class from 8-5pm Monday through Thursday all of June. Then in July 8-5pm for 3 weeks. I'm not excited at all about this.
I left for school, Chad left for VBS. Chad played with kids, I played on a computer. Chad had fun, I had work. Chad got to hang out with friends, I got to hang out with a computer. The day just wasn't fair at all.
I would much rather be sleeping and going to pool with some of our friends. Like the Boyt girls! Who wouldn't want to hang out at the pool with these 3 cute girls?

I think I'll make it. Maybe...right now I'm not sure. 2 more days of getting up early this week!
The Little Engine That Could said it best......"I think I can, I think I can."

Big DECISION.....A HOUSE!

Nothing is offical YET! But Chad and I signed the papers today (about 2:30pm) to start the process of buying a house. However, we won't close till June 29th, but we have found a house! This house wasn't even on the market yet. That's why.....it's good to know people who know people! And thats how we roll!
The house is in a GREAT location. And from what we've been told, good neighbors as well. We have drove past it already about 50 times since the verbal offer was made on Friday. The owner of the house accepted the verbal offer and things have already started rolling in this whole process.
I took some pictures so here they are.......
