Talking to my friend Leslie today was hard...her dad, Mark, is going in for surgery tomorrow at MD Anderson.
If you read this at any point tomorrow (Wednesday) please pray for them. Mark is suppose to be there at 9:45am and could go in at any time.
As we sent text messages during the day my heart continued to break for them. For the unknown, for the wait and everything else that goes along with cancer.
Please keep them in your prayers tomorrow as they do the surgery and then along the road of recovery.
Father,
May your peace and presence be overwhelming for the Merritt's tomorrow. Wrap your loving arms and hold them as they wait during the day of surgery. May your hands take control of the doctors tomorrow.
Overwhelm them with who You are!
Amen

Manager...That's ME!
The place of employment! Here it is!

I am now the manager at the Double T Zone store that is located on the north end of Jones Stadium (4th and University). I started at the Double T (aka The Zone). I also have a store that I am the manager of at the United Spirit Arena. My main focus right now is the Zone.
We will see how it goes!
You should some see me!

Totally NOT Ballet
Before I left for the Cotton Bowl, I got the JOY of seeing Emily (Miller) Parker. I can't remember the last time that we got to hang out. I think it was actually at her wedding. All I know it was a VERY long time ago. We planned to go see her before we moved to Lubbock but it never actually happened. She came to Lubbock one Sunday afternoon and Chad and I met her for lunch. Then the two of us went shopping and just actually got to spend some time together. It was so good to see her.
She started telling me about this concert that her mom, sister, and Kyle's parents were going to on December 30th. Chad was going to be out of town and so she offered me a ticket. I had no idea what it was so I wasn't so sure about going. Honestly she told me the name and I thought it was a ballet. And that didn't make me want to go at all.
Chad left Lubbock that day (December 30th) and Emily thought I should go with her. I kept saying NO thinking it was ballet. I called Chad that afternoon and told him that Emily kept asking me to go with them to this concert. He asked me who it was. I had no idea so I just guessed at the name and said something like, "Trans-Sans blahhhh." Chad then told me that I was an idiot because I said no. He kind of told/hummed me some songs that I would know. Come to find out it was the Trans-Siberian Orchestra. I called Emily and asked if the ticket was still available. She had to check and told me it was. I meet them for dinner then we were off to the concert. I told them that I thought it was ballet. They all laughed at me. Once they started playing, it was then I realized it was NOT a ballet!
This was by far the BEST concert I have EVER been to. The lights were incredible! The music was amazing. It was just down right good! And it was NOT ballet!
Thanks for the food and ticket! (oh yea...and thanks for letting me see something other than ballet!)
